I have a 2001 e38 740iL Sport. I needed to redo the rear subframe bushings and wasnt going to remove the subframe to do this. There is no tool for the e38 to do this and the tools i found will only work on the e39 and the X5 - which have different sized bushing sleeves to the e38. I watched lots of videos online to see how others had done this and they were all either making their own tools with welding equipment or using super complicated systems with lots of parts or doing things that looked a little too high risk. So i figured out my onw way using off-the-shelf low cost products from Home Depot, and then i videoed what i did on the left side of the car after figuring it all out on the right side. Here is that video. 35 minutes long and boring, but if you need to do your subframe bushings then "this is the way"!
