Thanks guys! I'll keep you posted with updates as soon as possible. It will not happen much now for weeks. Work and family takes time. But the next things to happen is refitting the driveshaft when it arrives back from cutting, rebalancing and change of bearings. Then build the exhaust with catalysts and the lamdasensors. I also need to improve the gearleaver transfer for the old gearleaver to the 5HP-transmission. But I think I'll have a drivable E23 during summer ... I hope!

I thought I just posted two photos of the layout underneath the E23, showing the M60B30 and it's clearence to ... everything. Also showing the modified left hand original engine curb.
The steeringrod clearence to the transmission at its nearest.
I think the modified drive/prop.shaft will be ready within a few weeks ...
I'll post some picture of it whet it arrives.

A package came from Powertrain today
... a modified propshaft!
Everything ready for mounting the propshaft.
Nice welding and work done by Powertrain. Thanks to the guys!
Propshaft mounted, all well.
Next is all the work with the exhaust-system.

Started on the exhaust this week. Used the original catalyc converter-pipes from E34/M60. Looks like they passes between the frames ... looks ok
... and the angle is great.
Temorarily fastened for modifying the E34-pipes to the E23 exhaust.
Had to widen the E23's exhaust from 20mm in between the pipes to 45mm. Then the two different exhaust just fitted. Just like that!
Next to do is the gearleaver. I have to use the leaver from the E34 for the 5HP-18 transmission.

Have been working with the E34 GearKnob in my E23. Fits like a glove and slotted right down in the same slot. Only had to cut a small hole in front of the lever to the wire. This way I'll have full controll of the 5HP-18 transmission. Just as the original solution was. Now I'll start on connecting the E34 lever's electrics against the E23's electrics. Two things here: The Stop-start signal and the signals to the lamps in the dash-module. Should be no problem.
The electrics enginewise from M30 to M60 is sorted out, and will be connected the next time the M60 skids back in the enginebay of the E23.
