Und noch ein paar Info dazu von ihm:
It took me one day to remove the front of the car, pull the old engine and install the new engine (not bad ey!?). And then another day to rebuild the front and hook everything up. And after all the trouble I went though before I'm not looking forward to doing it ever again. Just to give you an idea of what I went though:
-Removed the heads from engine 1
-Removed engine 1 because it was leaking badly
-Bought very cheap engine nr.2 resealed most of it to find it was pumping coolant into the oil
-Rebuild heads from engine nr.1 and put them on engine nr.2 only to find out the short block is probably cracked
-Bought and installed engine nr. 3 which seems to work OK. Still have to fix the temperature gauge to be 100% sure.
A couple of things I learnt:
-An 850 engine doesn't fit directly into the 750 without any mods. Some differences are: different alternator/oil lines/hydralic pump mount, different water pump, different aircon compressor mount, different input fuel lines,...etc.
-If you have to remove the engine from an e32 remove the front of the car as it saves so much time!
-You don't have to remove the entire exhaust and driveshaft
-The oil in your hair attracts sand...lots of sand!
-You can swap a M70 engine all by yourself
-people look at you very strangly if you buy 12 spark plugs at once
Now I still have to fix a crusher washer I forgot on the hydraulic pump which makes it leak really bad. And then it's MOT (OK the dutch call it APK) preparation time!
