ESG (4 wires) versus VSG JAPAN (3 wires)
Laut Auskunft Bimmerboard ist der Unterschied:

AFAIK everything is the same besides the style of antenna and demister (the J-Spec is lamenated between the glass and like you state 3 wire) so it uses the demister as an antenna.
Do not hook them together at the module output but find the break between the stages of arrays and attach there.
