Elektrik: Batterie Austausch !! Einfache Frage...

Hello chaps,

I am the proud (and fairly recent) owner of a 2001, E38 728i - superb piece of German engineering.....

Now I am a bit puzzled by all these electronics onboard (Navi, mobile, alarm etc etc): looks really complex vs. my previous car (an E30, where all sort of DIY was possible) !!!!

So my question is very simple: I want to replace the car's battery (110 Ah). Is there any risk to do it the simple, usual way: unplug both "Klemmen" of the old battery, switch to a new one and then re-plug the "Klemmen" ? Some friends tell me that by doing so many electronic devices will have to be re-set, which only my dealer would know how.

So, which specific procedure should I follow?
