Erzählt mal Eure "Aha-Erlebnisse" bei der Bedienung des E65

Hier ein paar auf Englisch, gefunden  hier:

• if you dont push the key fob all the way into the ignition and it slips and pops out, it will still start. its happened to me a few times and happens when you push it in at an angle. its like ghetto comfort access.
  
• there is a hidden change compartment in the front of the center console wall. the cd holder in the center pops out and adds extra space in there.
  
• you can make the cd changer flap go up and down by pressing the eject button 2 times quickly in succession and the cd changer wont pop out.
  
• the books to the car (case and all) fit nicely into the rear arm rest.
  
• if you want all the sunshades to pop up just hold the front driver sunshade button for a 3 seconds and they all pop up or down.
  
• if you hold both turn signal stalk buttons in for about 10 seconds, the gas and mpg meter disappear and make it nice and clean all black gauges.
  
• in the trunk where the tools are, there is a place for the valet fob to be put underneath the wrenches.
  
• if you enable DTC button in the Settings menu, you can do a burn out but you can't get the car sideways and it won't take away your power when you need to get going quickly.
  
• when you park your car, with your foot on the brake, hold the start/stop button for a couple of seconds. that will put the car in park, shut it off and eject the key all at the same time.

I gave you a wrong advice.

It works this way: Pull the i-drive twice in the same direction (which one doen't matter, as long as it's twice the same).

Then the "Menu" screen apperas.

Now press the idrive. The monitor will turn black (except the footline with temperature, date and so forth which will remain visible.

Another possibility:
Push the menue-button and then the idrive-knob ---> the sreen is dark.

da schau her! Das hab' ich nicht gewusst. AHA!

Der Tempomat kann laut Aussage meines nach Einschalten nur deaktiviert werden, geht aber nicht mehr ganz aus. Erst beim nächsten Start wäre er wieder ganz aus.

Durch Rumprobieren bin ich auf die Lösung gekommen: Einfach den Hebel nach oben oder unten drücken und etwa 5 sec. halten. Dann ist er ganz aus, und die Displays sind wieder schön schwarz. Wenn nicht gerade noch das Navi aktiv ist.

Das Gesicht des Händlers war interessant, als ich ihm den Trick zeigte.

Mein Aha-Erlebnis hatte ich mit der "Hoteltaste". Zwar hatte ich das Handbuch gelesen, aber das Thema hatte ich übersehen.

Bis eines Tages der Kofferraum nicht mehr zu entriegeln/öffnen zu war. Weder über beide Schlüssel, noch von innen. Ich dachte natürlich sofort an einen Elektronikdefekt. Ein Anruf bei meinem sehr guten Freundlichen brachte zum Glück schnell die Aufklärung. Anscheinend habe ich die Taste in im mittleren Fach (Armauflage) aus versehen aktiviert.

Die Erklärung der Funktion "Hotelfunktion" war mein Aha-Erlebnis.

Lustig! Bin ich vorhin auch draufgekommen und wollte berichten...
In dem Zshg. muss ich auch das hier mal probieren:

Und dieser Hotelmodus soll welchen Zweck haben?? Wüsste nicht mal wo solch eine Taste in der Ablage ist... mal gucken morgen

Hallo Jiha!
Du kanst dann das Mittelfach, in dem dieser Schalter ist, mit dem Metallschlüssel abschließen und jemand anderem den Plastikschlüssel OHNE Metall-Innenteil geben, dass er den Wagen zum Beispiel in die Hotelgarage bewegen kann.....
