HiFi/Navigation: Anyone do English ??? Cannot find Answers

Greetings from Edinburgh, Scotland.
Searched other forums but I just cannot find help for these questions!

I am desperate to upgrade my hi-fi system. I used to have Logic 7 Professional in 745i

Here at 7er Forum is where answers are. I have a 2006 730d Sport

1. I have Basic "BMW Speaker System" NOT "Hi-Fi Speaker System" Do you know excactly how front speakers are wired regarding the under seat woofers? I am thinking about fitting Blaupunkt "PnP" Amplifier and want to know if the under seat woofers run independently from my CCC player or if there is just one left/one right speaker cable from CCC.

2. I have heard the speaker cable is in place in each rear door. If so, can I find these cables in trunk/boot(maybe where amplifier for Logic 7 is???)

3. Any help or suggestions for upgrading basic stereo in E65 much appreciated!

I would search some of the US based forums. I know thar here in Denmark it's something like 3000£ to upgrade speakers and amp's, but i'm not sure that uoy can add logic 7

Hi silver50,
as much as I know, there is a little amp (with cooling fins) in the trunk, left hand side ...
This amp is only for powering the subs under the front seats - the mid speakers and tweeters are powered from the ASK, located in the central console.
Wiring will be independently !

Do you have more detailed informations about the Blaupunkt PnP system?
I can´t imagine, how this will work ?

The car's that have the small amplifier actually have what BMW call "hi-fi speaker system," my car just has the most basic system which seems to run the woofers underneath the drivers and passenger seats along with the front door speakers.

I have found out this week that the wiring splits near to the woofer under seat- part goes to the front door the other part to the woofer.

There are several amplifiers to chhose from with blaupunkt PnP the THA-555 seems the best. See link on this page for wiring harness adapters.

I think this system will still work for car's with "hi-fi speaker system," as it will not affect the signal to the amplifier in boot/trunk but will allow more power to front doors/rear parcel shelf speakers, and depending which Blaupunkt amp you choose will allow expansion further for your system.

Here is a photograph of PnP Harness. I can see it is designed for latest BMW CD/CCC etc.

It basically runs all 4 speaker level inputs to the Blaupunkt Amplifier (high level) and back to the wires going to the speakers. It is supposed to also provide +/- and switch to Amplifier.

This system will obviously NOT work with Logic 7 soundsystem.

This PnP Harness will not work in the E65 series ...
The connections seem to be completely different - on my point of view, the only chance is to work with regular high / low adapters, by cutting the speaker cables.

Furthermore the E65 audio system has no regular + switch in the audio system (activation by bus system)

Hi Peter,

Certainly Blaupunkt list the E65 as included for a harness although I would not like to have problems with it. I actually contacted Blaupunkt for confirmation, but I still remain only 90% convinced!

I just took this picture of the rear of a mini-disc unit for the E65. It does look as though it will fit the harness(previous picture)except it looks as though the optic connections are on the opposite side.
I agree it may be better to just pick up the speaker cables and run them into a line level convertor and not bother with the Blaupunkt harness. There are good points and bad points about using it.
