740 and automatic transmission

Some of you may know that E34 540 after September 93rd year was installed adaptive transmission.
The difference in electrical minimal. This can be done independently. The question is, did anyone in this E32?

We need the button S/A

And solder some wires

Comparing the differences we see that in the plug block lacks one mass, one plus and one jumper between terminals 82 and 83.

The remaining differences are control buttons.
We need to change the contacts in the connector according to the scheme, and in the end everything should work.





What's interesting is when the speeds 4 and 3, is possible to have both A and S.
With the inclusion of the same 2 S mode is automatically activated


Who can say about this?
It has long wanted an adaptive transmission. Exactly there will work in this method E32?

It seems that you are pretty familiar with electronics.

Whatsoever, its hard for me to understand the intension of your modification
and the practicability with an automatic transmission E32 type.

Did you just swap the TCUs and change the wiring according to the second
drawing ?

The question which comes up,
- is the standard E32 transmission (5HH30), capable to understand and
communicate with the "new" transmission control unit ?

The AGS is a very sophisticated pice of electronic and I doubt if this really
works as you has described.

It would be interesting for me, if you can explain differences in driving after you have done this modification.

Interesting modfication. You're really sure that this mod is not only a simulated electrical signal, but also a fully functional ATC?

Good question. Considering the fact you are using another control unit and wiring changes are likely to still this modification should lead to a positive result. However, at the moment I did not compare ETM 540 and 740, and I can not say whether or not the transmission wiring is the same. I'll try to check it out this weekend.
In addition, as one of the validation of this modification is the fact that changes the logic of the transmission with gear selector in different modes. This can be seen on the last picture.

Du kennst die AGS nicht? Oha... Adaptive Getriebe Steuerung. Der Apparat merkt sich deinen Fahrstil und dreht z.B. entsprechend höher aus. Er adaptiert sich eben an deinen Gasfuß. Hast du beispielsweise die letzten paar Kilometer kräftig beschleunigt, lässt der z.B. den dritten Gang noch einige Sekunden auf 3000 U/Min drin und schaltet erst dann hoch. Er hofft quasi, er darf noch mal rennen
