The 740 has nearly the same power as the 750, but it needs less fuel!
In general the 740 is more economical to maintain, than the 750.
Therefor the 750 has the smooth quiet V12 sound, which is simply fantastic.
Nevertheless the 6-cylinder-engines 730 and 735 are the ones, which are most dependable, and are easist to handle.
Bye from Germany

hy malik
read this link from erich, it´s very helpful to read this, if you want to
go to a 750.
the kilometer on the odometer ist not the big point, if the car was in
a good workshop. but if the owner before you igonred the regulary checks,
you can go in a lot of trouble.
best regards
peter

Hello Malik,
even though I haven't had my car for very long, I have already found out that the most important thing to have when buying an old 7 Series is a good workshop that knows what it's doing at reasonable prices. A BMW dealership is definitely expensive and mostly doesn't even really know what it's doing with these old cars anymore. So if you plan to have your car serviced and/or repaired at a BMW dealership, it will be VEEEEERY expensive. If getting your car serviced at BMW is your only option, then I strongly recommend a car with as few cylinders as possible to reduce the already high costs you will run into...
Michael
