New member for the UK
Hello, i am from the UK and i can only speak english.
I am thinking of buying a E65 and was wondering is it to pay the premium for a 745 over a 735? Is there a big difference between the 2 in fuel consumption either?
Also on the later E65's it has a BACK and MENU button near the idrive. Is it possible to retrofit these on an older E65?
Ive seen the facelift model and was wondering if the new bumper will fit on a older E65?
Thanks guys

Welcome to the Board
Well to be honest with you, I wouldn’t be that bothered about the consumption as you Brits can’t speed like we can in Germany, in the sense that most of the Germans use more petrol than the Brits, which you should consider as an advantage!
However, to answer your question, I would guess that you will need about 12 to 14 l with the 745 on average per 60miles (I don’t know how many Gallons that would be I’m afraid). I can’t tell you anything specific about the 35 or 45, as we only have the 730d.
It depends on where you drive the most though, city traffic, country roads or motorways.

No, as the Facelift I Drive is totally different than the one in the pre facelift in regard to the software.

It might, but you have to wait for the experts to reply to that question. I would say no, as I do not know the specific measurements of the pre or facelift bumpers.
Take Care.

If you go down to the E65 pictures, what bumper are the blue and silver E65 wearing? What company are they?

The UK E65 Sports have 19inch wheels as standard, different seats with bigger bolsters and a powerer extender to support the thighs. I foudn that pretty poor though.
On the fuel consumption in UK speak I can give you the following guidelines from personal experience on a mix of all roads:
745 - overall 20mpg
735 - overall 22mpg
730 - overall 23.5mpg
The last one is my car and the engine is still very tight at 8k on the clock.
Given that my E38 728 191bhp can return up to 26mpg on the same mix I have hope that this figure will increase just as my E38 did over time. It had had a brand new shortblock just before I bought it and it has only just done 60k now!!
My advice would be to go for a 2003 build car as you get DVD Satnav and electrically adjusted headrests as standard. I got a shot of a 2002 735 and this car did not have this feature yet my 1996 E38 does... a step backwards if ever there was one.
I had contemplated waiting for an E65 with comfort seats but now I have had my E65 for five months I am extremely comfortable in it. I now notice that there is less padding in the comfort seat backs to make space for the motors and when the seat is in an unadjusted state I can feel the comfort seat back is harder than standard.

Is it just me or are these just photoshopped pictures of the silver sport models in the 2002 - 2005 model year catalogue?
Staging, lighting position is exactly the same.
And boy how would that car (not) go round corners and up and down bumps?
If it were real then I am sure you would have no teeth left!!
