Karosserie: what is this??

can anybody give me a bit of advice on what is this thing hanging off the bottom of the car?

For sure it's nothing what should be hanging there. It seems to be a part of the bottom cover of the engine. But I'm not sure.

Hi Franz,

thanks anyway, I was trying to look it up in the service manual but it does not say anything. I clipped it in again but it comes loose, I think I will take it out and read out the part no. and re-order.

If you can tell me the part number maybe I can say you more exactly what it is.
Maybe it's also not necessary to buy a new part.

use the online spare parts catalog. That is the best to find out the part, p/n and where and how it is assembled. Just type in your chassis number and then search for those parts. It is divided in main and subgroups. If you click on the smaller pics, you will get explosion views.

I'm sure this part belongs to the front engine cover. may be you lost a screw or two.
Take a look from below (lift the whole car) and you will find the cause.
