Hi Chio.
Thanks. Seems logic.
So it runs out through the inner tube where the long bolt goes in to lock the topcover? I could not see a passageway in the housing with the valves to the inner tube. I poored the oil into the space with the valves and it leeked out of there.
How is the oil flow? Does it enter through one of the valves to the outside of the filter? If so, where does the oil leave the housing? It's not essential to know but I'm just curious.
Thanks again. Henk.

Yes, BMW designed the oil filter housing in such a way, that when you want to change the filter the housing drains automatically empty, as Chioliny explained.
So do not worry, seems to be o.k.

Clever thinking off BMW but if you start to worry, you get to hear every sound that in your mind wasn't there before. I would hate to have demaged the engine by not being allert enought to the warning light. Not that I ever got a low oilpressure or other warnings but the valve was demaged and I don't know for sure how long it took me to realize the oil light stayed on longer than normal.
Thanks for your reasuring answerds. Henk.
