worn break pads have nothing to do with that strange behaviour. If they are worn to the limit, you will get a warning in the dashboard (cc = check control). Might be the BKV.
Do not "listen/feel" an unplugged spark plug on test. Might "straighten your hair a bit upright".
Anyway, if your friend comes in 2 weeks to repair it, I just would ask your friendly repair shop to check the problem with the brake if it is dangerous to drive or not. This is probably the best solution, as you do not know it exactly and you cannot check by yourselves.
