How to cure 750 brakes locking
For anyone out there who has experienced the front brake locking on, particularly the left front wheel. I had the problem for some time and after wasting hours adjusting, lubricating and generally stuffing around I found the cause. If you remove the master cylinder, there is a bakelite bush between the main body and the pushrod. The bakelite bush goes hard and dry and if the car hasnt been used a lot, it has a tendancy to grab the pushrod and not allow it to return under the pressure of the spring inside. Lubricating the pushrod and bush will provide temporary relief, but I eventually found that chipping away at the bakelite and removing it has cured the problem. I guess I should have manufactured some kind of synthetic replacement, but its been 2 years now and no probs. Its a deceptive fault because the master cylinder is able to release pressure to the right front and rear left brake, but doesnt travel back enough to release the left front and right rear. A typical symptom of when its occuring is a brake pedal that is fairly easy to depress for the first part of the pedal travel and then it becoming rock hard (other than the obvious symptom of pulling left, apparent loss of power, and eventually hot brake smell) Hope this info is useful to someone
Ich versuch es weil es fur mehr leute ein problem ist !
