Front strut rod to shock tower bearing
On Bilstein Touring strut inserts (which are what I use on front) the top of strut rod where narrowed and threaded, the junction is machined in a tapered manner. The threads are not cut down enough that the center tower nut can be tightened at where the thread ends, but still leaving a microscopic gap to the tower bearing. Thus when bumped, the strut rod end is alternately hitting the tapered face or the bottom face of big nut. Solution (that I used) was to shim a probably 1/2" ID washer to fill that gap.
If you have air tool you can unscrew the nut, quickly insert a washer on top, and re-install the nut, use the air impact wrench to give a couple of quick actuation to torque the top nut and test drive.
