sorry but my English is better than my German.

I drove the E65, F02 and the current S-class. The new 7-series compared to the old one is way more sporty, the car has more feeling in the steering and the road contact. The driving experience is therefore more like the old E38. Compared to the S-class is a simular story the S-class kind of wooshses over the road and the new 7-series is just not build to do this, I think that is what Fifth Gear doesn't like. When I drove the 750Li I did drive it in 'Normal mode' most of the time because the car seems most balanced in this mode. What I also noticed is that the V8 engine isn't easy to drive very smootly, It just seems that it is either ON or OFF. That means that either you take of to slow at the traffic lights or it takes of like a rocket. This characteristic does urge the car to be driven in BMW-style, I think that is what Fifth Gear discribes as not-smooth.
