Canada 2003 760LI Video on front screen

thanks goofman.... the Canadian and usa spec cars come with the video feature disabled in the front. when i go to entertainment my options are FM, AM, WB ( weather channel ), CD, CD Changer & Memory. so im wondering how i can enable the video feature. i have the rear entrainment system with the dvd & TV tuner. they both work great in the rear. im not worried about the picture muting once in motion.

Thre rear entertainment system you have, it is with one Monitor in the middle or did you have two Monitors (one in each seat)?

Just a weird thought: do you know anyone who has access to BMW's coding computers? If so: try changing your car config to be a European car, then check, whether your front screen works. If it does (which I would imagine) then check whether you can switch on the canadian options (whatever they might be) manually. If all fails, switch your car back to US/North America.

Just a thought, might not work or be possible. Someone who might be able to help here, too is user appy or RolandDV. They are online regularily.

Hi

your problem is that you do not have a TV tuner. This is the option you need to give an output.

Basically there 3 ways to get an external picture on your front screen:

- use the onboard tv tuner (if available): it has a rearcamera input you can use (however no sound input!)

- use an interface that will act as a tv tuner (like diets IMU 1550 or Tixxon.de). Your dealer will have to program the car as if a tv tuner is installed >> sound input is included!!

- use an interface which overrides the onboard system (still no sound)

i have the tv tuner. i can watch and control the tv and dvd through the rear idrive and rear screen only. the cars in europe have the video feature in the front idrive and the canadian and usa cars dont. any help is appreciated.

try du buy a german tv-tuner or ask
