Is the idrive in the facelifted E65 much easier to use? Can you upgrade the idrive in an early E65 to the facelift one?

Hi,

The new idrive is, well, "nicer", not really a revolution to a really good media controller. I personally like it better than the old one.

An upgrade should be difficult as you need a new idrive console (with additional meny keys) and the latest CCC (monitor) SW. I don't know yet whether a new hardware is built into the CCC. If yes it probably cannot not be flash updated.

you mustn´t apologize, because of your language - because of the idrive:

I have an early 2002er E65 and have ordered a 2-button iDrive (2003) with the car(bought by BMW munich, NL) but it won´t work. The reason is:

You need a display (TV/Navi screen) newer than 9/2002 - than it will work.
